Prof Dr Jürgen Graf has been Of Counsel at the firm since 2018 and is one of the most renowned German experts for appeals in criminal matters of all kinds. He also specialises in advising and defending clients in criminal tax and commercial criminal law as well as IT and internet criminal law.
Professor Graf has unique expertise in the field of appeals in criminal matters. Before joining the firm, he was a judge at the Federal Court of Justice in Karlsruhe for more than 15 years, most recently as Deputy Chairman of the 1st Criminal Senate. There he was responsible for appeals of all kinds from Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria as well as for appeals in criminal tax and customs cases. Professor Graf has reviewed thousands of judgements for errors relevant to appeal law. He is very familiar with the special requirements before the highest German court for criminal matters.
Professor Graf has specialised in IT and internet criminal law since the 1990s. As a senior public prosecutor at the Federal Public Prosecutor General in Karlsruhe, he dealt with computer and internet offences, data protection and telecommunications surveillance, among other things.
Professor Dr Graf is the author and editor of numerous standard works and publications on commercial and tax criminal law as well as on the Code of Criminal Procedure and the Administrative Offences Act.
