Justus Kraft, LL.M.

Justus Kraft has been a lawyer at the firm since 2019. He defends and represents companies and their officers in all areas of commercial criminal law. Early on in his professional career, he specialised in compliance consulting, among other things, and in 2021 he obtained a Master of Laws degree in Compliance and Corporate Security from the Rheinische Fachhochschule in Cologne. Handelsblatt has listed Justus Kraft as a "Lawyer of the Future" in the field of corporate governance and compliance practice in its Best Lawyers ranking since 2022.

Mr Kraft supports medium-sized and listed companies in all sectors as well as public corporations in implementing and improving effective compliance structures. He breaks down even complicated issues to the relevant factual and legal questions and communicates empathetically and at eye level.

In the defence of executives, Justus Kraft sees it as part of his task to establish equality of arms for his client vis-à-vis the resource-rich state. Mr Kraft also is experienced in high-profile proceedings. He was involved in the defence of the management board of a public credit institution in criminal tax proceedings and, as part of the team led by VBB partner Dr Marcus Böttger, is representing a US group in criminal proceedings relating to foreign trade law.
